Headquartered in Naples, Magnaghi Aerospace Group was founded in 1936 as a provider of landing gears to the Italian air force, and has diversified significantly over time under the leadership of the current owner and CEO. Today the group manufactures (i) landing gears, hydraulic components and actuators to the rotary and fixed wing markets globally, (ii) composite aerostructure components, and (iii) Sky Arrow, a carbon fiber aircraft with multiple applications across law enforcement, defense and agriculture.
With a strong multi-year backlog unterpinned by firm existing clients, and a strong management team with operational experience, the company is one of the principal suppliers for several major platforms, with notable clients such as Bombardier, Airbus, AgustaWestland and ATR.
Three Hills’ funding has supported the business in accelerating its growth plans, having executed four acquisitions and entered three new geographies (UK, USA, Canada), as well as improving the operational infrastructure of the business and diversifying underlying revenue streams, seeing EBITDA levels grow by over 70% compared to the levels at entry.
In March 2024 Three Hills fully exited the business through a refinancing of the bond instrument and the sale of its equity stake to the founder.
