Three Hills appoints Alessandro Gonella as new Managing Director

Three Hills is delighted to announce the appointment of Alessandro Gonella, who joins the firm as a Managing Director to reinforce its Capital Solutions strategy across the French and Italian markets.

Alessandro Gonella brings significant transactional and operational experience, with a career spanning senior roles in sovereign investment and financial advisory. Prior to joining Three Hills, he served as a Senior Director within the Large Cap team at Bpifrance, the French sovereign investment fund, where he led multiple transactions across Aerospace & Defence, B2B services and industrial assets. Throughout his career, Alessandro has held board positions at multinational companies across a range of sectors, partnering with management teams to drive business expansion through M&A, organic growth initiatives and talent development. He began his career at KPMG’s Transaction Services team in Paris, advising corporates and private equity funds on cross-border, cross-sector financial due diligence engagements. Alessandro holds degrees in Economics and Finance from the Università degli Studi di Torino and ESCP Europe and is trilingual in Italian, French, and English.

Alessandro Gonella’s appointment marks an important milestone in Three Hills’ continued expansion, strengthening the firm’s commitment to its Capital Solutions strategy. Both Italy and France represent compelling opportunities within the European middle market and Alessandro’s appointment underscores the firm’s deepening local capabilities and relationships across the regions. Three Hills’ investment team counts c. 70 dedicated professionals across London, Milan, Paris, Madrid and New York, reflecting the firm’s ambition to build a truly global platform with genuine local grip across its key geographies.
